Thirty-Six States Worried About Health Care Reform and Taking Action

Other nations wonder why America’s health care system does not function rationally.

Thirty-six states or more are organizing themselves to a health care reform plan which has not even passed.

The Obama plan, says this Reuters story, provides funding for the states.

The states either are unaware of this or are unpersuaded by it.

Many states are worried that the healthcare reform plan currently winding through the U.S. Congress will usurp their sovereignty and impose more spending to their already stretched budgets.

The (health reform) plan provides funding to help states through the overhaul of the healthcare industry, which would include requiring Americans to have health insurance and push more people into the Medicaid system for the poor that states and the U.S. government administer. (Emphasis added)

Some states may sue if the healthcare plan passes, while others are attempting to pass their own laws and constitutional amendments to keep health insurance optional…”
