WSJ Top 10 Medical Stories for 2009

Cheree Cleghorn | December 22, 2009

This newspaper’s top 10 stories includes this one: The role of doctors in driving up medical costs. Citing a New Yorker article by physician Atul Gawande which compared the differences in medical costs in two Texas towns, the story says the doctor as an agent in driving up costs  is an issue which came back into view in 2009.

If you would like to see Dr. Gawande’s comments, you can check them out at The New Yorker.

He is a physician who writes well, making complex subjects readable—even intriguing.
