HHS Offers You Food News…Food Safety…Recalls and Alerts…All on One Website

Flu.gov is a new website created to help people keep track of all of the information about influenza, seasonal and pandemic. Because so many government agencies play a part in influenza preparedness or response, this is a good idea.

For the same reasons, there now is a site which does the same thing for food safety. The food poisoning outbreaks in recent years have shown the importance of getting up-to-date information and being able to report food safety problems.

This new website incorporates healthy food information, Q and A interviews with experts and more.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) needs to restore public confidence in its ability to identify and act quickly to prevent contaminated foods from traveling into the general food supply. This is only one tool for the public to use but it has potential for being a valuable one.

If you have reason to want to get every alert, there is a widget you can use to get automatic updates.
