Blue Cross Experiments with Selling Health Insurance…at the Mall
Cheree Cleghorn | March 6, 2009
News Brief
This store is about the direct-to-consumer marketing experiment Blue Cross is conducting—-with an eye to reaching the uninsured with plans as low as $20 a month.
Critics say these storefronts duplicate existing services online and by telephone.
“People want to purchase health insurance in a variety of different ways. Maybe you’re comfortable online, maybe you want to talk to someone in person, or maybe you want to come into a store.”
Doug Bartel of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida
