A survey from the University of Michigan-C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital showed that respondents who were Republicans or Democrats tended to think their party’s candidate would do a better job with the five most important issues in health care.
However, among independents, Barack Obama had a commanding lead. Independents are the most heavily-courted voters at this point because they can make the difference in who gets elected.
The issues:
1. Overall cost of care.
2. Medication costs.
3. Health insurance coverage for uninsured children.
4. Health insurance coverage for uninsured adults.
5. Disparity in the quality of care.
