Police and, more recently, those interviewing terrorists, acknowledge that sleep deprivation is one tool investigators use to get a subject to talk.

Still, scientists express some surprise at a new study’s findings showing a lack of sleep could be seriously harmful to ordinary citizens.

Reuter’s News editor Maggie Fox reports on a new study which shows how devastating sleep loss is for adults.

In other studies, the importance of sleep for babies, children and teenagers—-how much they need, when and why—also is getting a fresh look from researchers who study those age groups.

Everybody needs a good night’s sleep for physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Our 24/7 world seems to have made us forget that just because we can do just about anything almost any time—-unbound from the old limits of the “school day,” “work day” or “regular business hours”—- does not mean that we should.

Read about this study and you may turn in in time to get seven to eight hours, which is what is recommended for adults.

Good night!
