Happy Reader Day To You!
For readers interested in any aspect of health care, medicine or science, The New York Times is one of the best newspapers available in the world.
Nytimes.com is reported to be the biggest newspaper website in the world.
Anyone who registers has been able to see the daily paper at nytimes.com for free.
Two years ago, though, the paper carved out some columnists and access to its archives and charged for this information, under the name Times Select.Unless you subscribed to the print edition or were an educator, you had to pay $49.95 annually.
The newspaper is opening up to all readers, effective midnight tonight. (September 18, 2007)
The Times will also make available its archives from 1987 to the present without charge, as well as those from 1851 to 1922, which are in the public domain. There will be charges for some material from the period 1923 to 1986, and some will be free.*
Since articles from 1987 to the present are free, 99 percent of searchers should be able to get what they need. Health care changes so quickly, an article even three years old can be badly out of date.
If you have not bookmarked this website, nytimes.com please do so right now.
Your patient IQ will go up overnight.
